Phantom Ink

To set up the game of Phantom Ink, all the players are divided into two teams, the Sun and the Moon. Both teams have one spirit and up to three mediums. The spirits begin the game by picking one of the five objects on a card as the hidden object, and the team’s mediums share a hand of seven inquiry cards. The mediums ask two sample queries to their spirit on each turn: “What color is it?” and “If it were a musical equipment, what would it be?” .

The spirit removes one question card from the deck, flips it over, gives the mediums the question card it will respond to, and then slowly writes the response on the card, one letter at a time, for everyone to see. The spirit’s writing stops as soon as the mediums yell “Silencio,” which indicates that they have identified the clue word. Even though the other team of mediums might only be able to make out the letter “Y,” if you know the question is “What color is it?” Answer it as “yellow.” And then pick two cards more to finish your chance.

On your turn, rather than handing over question cards, you can guess the answer by writing like the spirits, I.e., one letter at a time. If your answer is wrong, the spirit will stop you, and your partial answer will give more information to the other team. And if you guess the correct answer, you will win!

Mountain of Madness Board Games

In 1931, your scientific journey discovered a new and unique mountain range in the center of the Antarctic pole circles. During these tough times, your team’s survival will rely on your capability to communicate with each other and correlate your efforts to defeat every obstacle. But eventually, what you unveil during this tough journey to the highest mountain in the Mountain of Madness board games will test your mental health.

Codenames: Disney Family Edition

In this game of Codenames: Disney Family Edition, two teams play against each other to first guess all the words correctly. Each team has a spymaster; these two are the only ones who know which words belong to which side. Everyone wants to avoid the game over the card as their colleagues attempt to predict words of the correct color while avoiding those that belong to the other team. Spymasters alternately provide one-word hints that can lead to various words on the board. This version also includes 4×4 grid cards without a game place to make it more convenient for families and kids.

Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist Board Game

The one-versus-many, asymmetric gameplay in Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist board game pits protagonist John McClane against other thieves who are working together to thwart the hero’s scheme to rescue the hostages inside the famous Nakatomi Plaza high-rise. Movie lovers and casual gamers alike will enjoy the game’s unique homage to the 1988 action movie, which includes references to Die Hard’s most iconic sequences, characters, and events throughout the rules and gameplay.

Captain Sonar (2nd Edition)

In Captain Sonar board games, you and all your team members control an advanced submarine and are continuously trying to find an enemy submarine to blow it out before they do the same with you. In this game, every role has its own importance, and the confrontation is completely merciless. Always be organized during the complete game and communicate with each other. The complete crew consists of a captain, the chief mate, the engineer, and the radio operator.

The division of labor for these jobs depends on the player’s count in the game, and each member of a team sits on one side of the table and takes a particular function on the submarine. Captain is in charge of moving the submarine and announcing some details. Another player is operating the sonar to listen to the orders of the opposing captain and attempt to determine where that submarine is supposed to be in the water. A third player may work in the munitions room to prepare torpedoes, mines, and other weapons to allow combat. Turn-by-turn or simultaneous play are the two game modes available for Captain Sonar. In the latter scenario, each team member acts concurrently while trying to keep tabs on what the opposition is doing. When a captain is ready to attack, the action stops briefly to see if a hit has been registered. When it resumes, the target may have escaped while the attacker waited, or there may be metal fragments all over the ocean floor. There are several maps featured, all with varied difficulty.
