Top Three Thematic Games in Montreal- You Cannot Miss to Play!

Thematic games are a source of inspiration, never-ending entertainment, and a fun-filled ride you can take with your friends or family. There are hundreds of activities to opt from, but all of them are casual and do not give you a thrill.

But top thematic board games in Toronto are meant to give all extra adventure, fun, and quality time with your friends. Below are the top three thematic games- the perfect choice for a pleasant evening.

Mantis Falls

In some cultures, Mantis means good fortune or luck. Not here. Mantis Falls is simply a game of trust. Surprisingly this is one of the thematic games where one needs to use their social skills in a not-so-specialist manner- you need to be street smart. Like it says on the games board, “cooperative sometimes.” One needs to cooperate initially to know the deal behind other players being extra nice.

The crux of the entire game is to find ‘the assassin.’

Let me start from the top to explain about the most adventurous thematic board games in Montreal.

The game’s storyline is that players have witnessed something they must not have seen (ohh, sounds scary). And now they all need to escape the dark and mob-ruled town of Mantis Falls alive on two feet to ensure their safety!

As the game begins, you are told that one more witness will join- but this witness cannot be entirely trusted as they can also be assassins. But the game revolves around trusting the new companion (but should you?). As the journey initiates on the dangerous roads of Mantis, you are bound to feel horrified and lose the ability to think clearly.

The game Mantis Falls is inspired by the movie Noir Worlds. This thematic journey pushes players to measure the trust of other companions whenever they get a chance. Players are asked to make concealed sharp moves at every turn and build impressive plans to save themselves. I’ll share one trick- have as many conversations as possible to discover the real danger.

I have yet to learn about you, but this game sounds interesting.

You must use the trick to stay sharp and fool others if you are the assassin, and if you end up being a witness- then you must be extra clever. Or there could be an assassin behind you waiting to knock you over to win the final round. To be honest manipulation will work a 100% in the situation you will be- my suggestion would be to wait for the correct time to strike.

  • Cost- $37.99
  • Players- 2-3
  • In the box: 87 actions, 48 events, 21 allies, 15 roads, 7 different characters, 4 roles, 4 conserves, 3 trackers, 6 buttons, 3 custom meeples, 6 agents under the rose, 3 wooden roses and 1 manual.

Star Trek: Ascendancy

How can I forget to mention the great Star Trek in this list? Nevertheless, this is one of the coolest and most popular thematic games in Toronto and worldwide.

Star Trek holds the immense love of audiences through its incredible movies, extraordinary game visuals, and not to forget storylines. In Star Trek: Ascendancy- one thing you can be sure of is the adventure would be there, no less, no more- the perfect amount.

It is a game of extreme fun, adventure, twists, expansion, and intriguing conflict between the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire.

In the game, players are the ones to control the great civilizations of the Galaxy and also have the responsibility to grow the civilization as well. This journey will be filled with betrayal, so be ready; choose the players carefully if you wish to win the game.

So, with Star Trek, be ready to experience what can only be described as – fun, fun, and fun.

There’ll be more than 200 miniatures and 30-star systems, all representing some of the Start Trek galaxies- the most notable planet and location.

Every turn is a great unknown path for every player; with every turn, you can be sure of one thing- your ship will be able to explore new space systems. One thing you will adore is the excitement of making beautiful discoveries along the game journey- so I am asking you the ultimate question- are you ready to embark on the memorable journey of Star Trek?

  • Players: 3
  • In the box: 33 ships and 3 fleet markers, 45 card exploration deck, 30 system discs to explore, 63 resource nodes.

Mansions of Madness: Second Edition – Horrific Journeys: Expansion

The game’s name does paint a picture of what might be in store for the players. Horrific journeys- I wonder why the founder of the game thought of this assertive and glorifying quality.

The game’s plot is sure enticing and captures the beauty of brewing jealousy between two competitors. The game revolves around the Atlantic skies, a peaceful journey that gets bluntly disturbed by the act of mean revenge and an incoming storm. Further in the sea far below, a saboteur puts explosives to sink the ship. And much more twists and the act of revenge will be waiting for the players who dare to play the exciting game of Mansion of Madness.

More on the game- I’ll say that Mansion for Madness is not here to give a little fluke this time. But to be of drama and filled with scare. The game revolves around four different scenarios- that call for new investigators- who are meant to solve mysteries with map tiles, difficult-to-read puzzles, creepy monsters, and confusing events.  Another adventure thematic board games in Montreal to play with your family or friends.

To complete the game with a fine victory, one must be brave and intelligent. Do you dare to play the game?
